A few years ago, the only chance that many people got to get onto the first rung of the property ladder was to buy the council flat they already lived in. Perhaps that was you; perhaps you got a good deal, saved up and now you want to move on. That’s why you may now be uttering the cry, “Buy my flat!” Perhaps alternatively you bought a flat as a starter home; in some places, especially cities, that might be your only option to begin with. But what if you’ve outgrown your flat and the buyers just aren’t there? Don’t despair; there’s more than one way to skin a cat and there’s more than one way to get someone to buy your flat.
Flats - especially ex-council flats –are not always easy to sell. Perhaps it’s not in the greatest area; perhaps it’s a little run-down; perhaps it’s a great place but still suffering from the stigma of being an ex-council place. All of these reasons and more may leave you struggling to find someone to buy your council flat. Even with a private flat you have the problems of lack of privacy, noise and communal areas.
First-time buyers will often be interested enough to buy your flat, just like you were, but this still might not be quick. You may have financial problems which mean that you need a quick sale. Typically, though, going down the traditional route of the estate agent can take three to six months; this can be worse when you need someone to buy your flat as opposed to a house. Firstly, as I said, you might have the stigma of it having once been a council flat; second, it’s not easy to have a board outside your flat. That would have to be outside your building and your particular flat may be much better cared for and maintained than the rest of the building; a run-down building with dimly lit and graffiti adorned hallways won’t exactly scream ‘buy my flat!” now will it?
Perhaps you want someone to buy your flat because you’re sick of the maintenance costs; why should you pay to maintain communal areas and grounds just to have them trashed by someone else?
Like everyone else, you may want someone to buy your flat so you can relocate to another area; you may want to move for your job; you may need to sell up because of mounting debts; creditors may be banging at your door. There are so many reasons why you may want someone to buy your flat – and for some of these you may need to move fast. ‘Fast’ isn’t a word that estate agents respond to too well; selling your flat may take upwards of three to six months. Depending on your reasons for moving, that may be no good to you.
But don’t worry – help is at hand. Just a simple search of “buy flat” on the internet can deliver you page after page of property buying companies. They will be only too pleased when they hear the plea of ‘buy my flat’ to answer, “OK then, we will!” You can let one of these companies buy your flat and close the deal in less than two weeks. Another great thing about these property buying companies is that they won’t care what condition your flat is in; they’ll buy it from you, do all the paperwork and take care of the legal fees too. You won’t be plaintively begging ‘buy my flat’ for very long – you’ll be on your way to your next home. We Buy Homes For Cash
