Your alternative to selling to "Cash for homes" companies

You have been struggling to pay your mortgage and have been contacted by “cash for homes” companies.  You know that these “cash for homes” business are bad news but it seems appealing now that it feels you have your back to the wall.  There are some alternatives you can consider other than selling your home though.
