As can be seen from the rather distressing present financial crisis in the United Kingdom and elsewhere it used to be easy getting a mortgage. Many now believe it was far too easy.

You may find you are eligible for a smaller mortgage than you expected. If this is the case you will have to look at flats in your price range. If you want to buy my flat you must have access to the right amount of cash. But it may be a reverse situation. You could be told you are eligible for a bigger mortgage than you realized. Of course, having more money to use gives you more options. But you do not have to feel pressurized into using the maximum amount of cash. You may want to stick with a more reasonably priced flat. The decision is yours.
I am aware that if I want somebody to buy my flat I must present my property as an attractive buy. It is always worthwhile to do some decorating and fixing up before showing off a flat or a house.
