Health and safety in shared areas has to be a prime consideration too if you are to maintain the value of your property. Flats can have shared staircases, landings, and gardens, drying areas, garages and bin areas. These areas must be kept clean and tidy. Do not leave anything outside your flat and fly tipping is a big no no’. It would seem common sense to not keep pets on shared areas or balconies, or allow them to wander around the block, but unfortunately sense isn’t all that common and flats will have their rules prominently displayed.
